Summary The qualification aims to:

  • develop candidates' knowledge of a range of different software application types
  • develop the ability to use different applications effectively to meet a customer's specified requirements
  • develop candidates' ability to manage information
  • develop candidates' ability to plan, prioritise and evaluate work tasks effectively
  • develop candidates' skills, knowledge and testing in contexts that are directly relevant to employment situations.

Progression Candidates who are successful in achieving the OCR Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for iMedia Users will be able to progress directly to other related qualifications. Those candidates who wish to extend their skills at Level 3 will be able to progress to different optional units.
Tariff entry The qualification was first considered for UCAS Tariff points in November 2008. Points come into effect for entry to higher education from 2010 onwards.

Tariff points for the OCR Creative iMedia QCF qualifications are included in the Tariff on a provisional basis at the same level as the NQF iMedia qualifications. UCAS is currently reviewing whether the Tariff points for the QCF versions should be increased. This work is due to complete in October 2011.
