| Summary | These qualifications aim to educate students to make informed decisions which will facilitate their progression, primarily but not exclusively to appropriate higher education in art, design and media. They build on a learner's prior experience, linking skills already acquired, with ideas and challenges which will extend learners critical independence, and provide them with a full understanding of the career opportunities in art, design and the media. |

| Tariff entry | A Tariff Expert Group met in 2003, with points coming into effect for entry to higher education from 2006 onwards. Following the expiry of the original specifications, reviews were taken in 2008 (for ABC Awards and Edexcel), and 2009 (WJEC). UAL's specification was considered through an Expert Panel for the first time in October 2009.
