Notes

The University of Glamorgan offers students a flexible range of options in selecting their degree courses: Single Honours Degrees; Joint Honours Degrees; Major/Minor Honours Degrees; Multidiscipline Scheme, Foundation Year (FY)Programmes, Foundation Degrees (FD) and Higher National Diplomas (HND).
The subjects available for single honours degree courses are set out below, under the relevant subject areas. Details of Joint Degrees, Major/Minor Degrees and the Multidiscipline Scheme are included after the list of subject areas.
Joint Honours degrees are generally those where two or three subjects are linked by 'and'. Such degrees are for applicants who wish to study two or three subject areas in an equally-weighted combination. Some of the subject areas available for single honours degrees are also available for combining as joint or major/minor degrees. Other subjects are available only as part of a joint honours or major/minor combination.
Major/Minor Honours Degrees are those where two subjects are linked by 'with'. Such degrees are for those wishing to study two subject areas with a greater emphasis on one (the major) than the other (the minor).
Common combinations for Joint and Major/Minor degrees have been pre-coded and these awards are listed under Joint Degree Awards.
The Multidiscipline Scheme is for applicants who wish to delay their choice of single, joint or combined honours until the end of the first year or for applicants who wish to combine three or more subject areas to honours degree level. The subjects which may be selected for this award are listed under the heading Multidiscipline Scheme.
The University of Glamorgan also offers the following courses:
- Foundation Year Programmes. In these programmes, the usual three-year degree courses are preceded by an additional foundation year which is intended for those students who may not have the usual entry requirements to begin immediately on a three-year degree course.
- Foundation Degrees. These are two-year degree courses with an integral programme of work-based learning. Successful students qualify for a Foundation Degree (FD) and can progress to the final stages of an honours degree.
- Higher National Diplomas (HNDs).
