Consultation

The UCAS Admissions Process Review (APR) consultation phase started on 31 October 2011 and ran for 12 weeks until it closed on 20 January.

The APR was commissioned by the UCAS Board to initiate a national debate about how UCAS can best serve the needs of applicants and its members in an environment that has changed markedly in the past 12 months, and will continue to change, with new patterns of supply and demand, and applicant behaviour.

The consultation phase began with the online publication of the APR consultation document, which represents a comprehensive review of admissions issues. UCAS is uniquely positioned to be able to inform and drive this consultation, resulting in a high level of interest throughout the higher education sector.

Consultation events

To support the Admissions Process Review, we also ran a series of regional events.

The events were well supported with over 500 delegates from the HE sector in attendance, including leaders in higher education, schools and colleges, representatives of applicants to higher education and other stakeholders such as awarding bodies, representative organisations, government departments and their agencies.

The consultation events took place in the following locations:

  • Belfast: Queen's University Belfast, 11 January 2012
