Introduction to UCAS

What does the session cover?

The programme provides an easily digested overview of the application process and the parallel routes followed by the HEI and the applicant. The day also provides an opportunity for delegates to meet key UCAS staff.

The following topics are covered.

  • Overview of UCAS.
  • Applicant and HEI UCAS journey.
  • Fraud and verification - UCAS' role and advice to HEIs.
  • Considering the application and making offers.
  • Confirmation, Clearing and Adjustment.
  • Benefits and responsibilities of UCAS membership.
  • The role of the UCAS Correspondent.

Who should attend?

The day has been designed for staff working at HEIs that have recently become UCAS members, and for those staff that are new to admissions working at existing member HEIs. It assumes no prior knowledge of UCAS processes, key dates or procedures.

As these days are always popular, we ask that institutions send no more than two delegates per session.

The programme provides a lively, easily digested overview of the application process and the parallel routes followed by the HEI and the applicant.

The day begins with registration and coffee at 10:00 and closes at 15:00 and lunch is provided.
