at the heart of connecting people to higher education

Do you need to know more about offer making and decision processing?

From an applicant and pre-HE adviser perspective, it is vital that there is widespread confidence that decisions are made fairly and in a timely manner, and offers are made on a basis that is clear, transparent and appropriate. However, from a HEI perspective, the procedures involved can cause confusion for the uninitiated.

How we can help

By attending this day-long workshop you will enhance your ability to deal confidently with making offers and administering decision processing.

Learning objectives

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • explain the purpose of offer making and its implications for both your institution and your applicants
  • evaluate offers and describe what makes a 'good offer'
  • know how to use the coding system to make offers
  • understand how the offers are sent to applicants from UCAS
  • understand the potential implications of changes in student numbers controls on offer making
  • discuss good practice guidelines.

Who should attend?

This workshop will be of value to anyone, new or experienced, who is involved in any capacity in offer making and decision processing - administrators, professional admissions staff and admissions tutors.
