at the heart of connecting people to higher education

Best practice when interviewing and giving positive and constructive feedback

Overview

This workshop will consider both the content and organization of interviews. The programme will include discussion on the purpose of an interview, the practical arrangements and the structure of the interview to ensure the interview meets the needs of the applicant and the HEI. The legal requirements will include the making and storing of notes taken during the interview.

This programme will also explore who needs and requests feedback: why and when; and what kind of feedback could or might be provided. It explains how the provision of feedback ties in with fair admissions best practice and the linking up of the whole admissions process. It also highlights how feedback might most effectively and efficiently be delivered in most instances, encompassing consideration of the importance of being proactive in avoiding conflict.

Who should attend?

This workshop will be of value to anyone, new or experienced, in the marketing, recruitment or admissions teams, or those responsible for policy development.
