Supporting Admissions: Use of Statistics Project
To help member institutions using UCAS data in relation to professionalism and good practice in admissions, a project was undertaken to review the UCAS data and statistics available to institutions that could be used to support their marketing, recruitment and admissions processes, and also to investigate their use of that data. To find out more about this project visit the Use of Statistics Project page for further details.
CUKAS
The Conservatoires UK Admissions website, which is also administered by UCAS, provides some data in the form of the published Annual Report.
GTTR
The GTTR website provides access to monthly statistics for postgraduate teacher training applications, starting from February in each application cycle. There are separate tables for the numbers of applicants to training providers in England, Wales and Scotland as well as a summary table that combines the figures for all three countries. Each table provides a breakdown of the number of male and female applicants for different primary teaching age ranges, middle years teaching and for each secondary teaching subject and gives a comparison with the same stage of the previous application cycle. In April, July, September and October the figures for accepted applicants are published on the same basis. The Annual Statistical Reports for the years 2000 to 2008 are also available.
web-link
If you are a UCAS member institution, you can also use web-link to view your own applicant data and to update course and institution data. This facility, which is reached directly through an internet connection, enables you to view and, in some cases, download statistical data and reports relevant to your institution and to a particular application Scheme (UCAS, GTTR, CUKAS, and UKPASS).
