Are Tariff points ever reviewed?

UCAS will review qualifications in the Tariff every three years, although this may be sooner if the qualification changes substantially.

Some qualifications enter the UCAS Tariff when they are still relatively new. Consequently there may be only limited amounts of candidate evidence available at the time of the work of the Expert Group. In such cases, decisions should be reviewed once when more evidence becomes available and when higher education admissions tutors have gained more experience of using the awards as entry qualifications.

Tariff scores for the following qualifications were reviewed in 2008 and 2009:

  • GCE Advanced level qualifications
  • ABC Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail
  • ABC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art, Design and Media
  • CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education
  • Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
  • OCR Level 3 Certificate/ Diploma for IT Professionals (iPro)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • Scottish Advanced Highers
  • Scottish Highers
