How can I give my students the best chance of getting offers for everywhere they have applied?
Bear in mind that the reference will be read alongside the personal statement. It is important that you are confident that the student has presented himself or herself as well as they possibly can in their personal statement. Support the student's motivation and commitment to a subject by backing up their comments with your own observations. Point out if they compare favourably to others in their class by perhaps showing skills and maturity that their classmates may not have. Also highlight why you think this applicant would make a good higher education student and give reasons.
