Adviser toolkit
We have designed a toolkit for use by advisers which will provide you with an easy way of passing on that vital information. It includes suggested lesson exercises, practical tips, templates for onward communication, details on how to get in touch with us and a checklist for advisers.

Adviser Guide
This guide is for staff who advise potential applicants for higher education (HE) courses in the UK. It explains how students apply for higher education and how we deal with their applications.

Scottish Guide
This guide is for students, parents and advisers looking for higher education courses in Scotland.

Illume (PDF)
The new UCAS magazine for advisers. Illume is part of our new communications with schools, colleges and other centres involved in guiding students into higher education in the UK. It will be published three times a year, in January, April and September.

Monthly newsletter
Our monthly e-newsletters contain details about what's new and what's important, as well as other useful updates and reminders about the UCAS application process. If you're new to advising or not receiving the newsletter contact schools@ucas.co.uk to get added to our distribution list.

Guide to studying in the UK 2013 (PDF)
A guide for non-UK students and advisers containing information on the UK and the UCAS application process. This guide also contains a map showing the locations of over 300 higher education institutions.

These guides provide accurate and up-to-date information about a wide range of pre-HE qualifications and entry routes to HE. The publications are intended primarily to be working manuals for admissions tutors and staff in universities and colleges. They should also be useful for staff in schools, colleges and careers services who advise applicants on entry to HE.

Publications available to order

The following titles are available to order from our external supplier:

  • Little Guide 2014: free of charge + postage and packing costs
  • Parent Guide 2014: free of charge + postage and packing costs
  • UCAS Guide to Getting into University and College (Second Edition): £12.99 + postage and packing costs .

You can order these titles by calling 0844 894 0013 (08:30 - 17:30 UK time) - please have a credit or debit card ready for any charges as we are unable to offer an invoice facility. The postage and packing costs will be determined by the overall weight of the order, up to a maximum of £13 for up to 25kgs (larger orders will be priced on application).

Outside of these hours you can email ucaspublications@linney.com with details of your order and a convenient date and (UK) time for operators to contact you, process your order and take your credit/debit card details. Please do not send credit/debit card details by email, as we cannot process your order this way.
