Cheltenham born Alex Gregory is the London 2012 rower, who thrilled the nation in his Coxless four win at Eton Dorney.
He's coming to UCAS headquarters on Wednesday 10 October for a special interview with TV sports presenter Jill Douglas, who covered many events during the games.
Over 50 members of UCAS staff and 25 specially invited children from local secondary school Pittville, will get an insight into Alex's career and just what dedication it takes to win Olympic gold. The 11 - 16 year-olds, accompanied by head teacher Richard Gilpin will also have the chance to ask questions, have photographs taken and of course see the all important gold medal!
Jo Redfern, Commercial Director at UCAS said: 'We're really excited to welcome a Cheltenham born champion and really pleased that our neighbours at Pittville School can join us for what promises to be a great afternoon. London 2012 was so fantastic, who better to inspire us and young people than a gold medallist.'
Fiona Talwar-Lomberg, Chief Executive of Winston's Wish (a charity for bereaved children) will also be coming along to receive a cheque for £443.08. In the summer UCAS held its own mini Olympics to get into the spirit of the games and raise money for the very worthy cause.
The interview has been organised by the Personal Engagement Group (PEG) at UCAS. PEG is an informal group within the business run by volunteers. It's designed to inform and support individuals around the business with their career goals.
