UCAS Media Limited welcomes new Board member

21 September 2010

UCAS Media has announced that Terry Grote OBE has been appointed to the UCAS Media Board with immediate effect.

Mr Grote, now retired, has had a notable career in the media sector, a highlight of which was as Managing Director of The Independent & Independent on Sunday. More recently he was appointed adviser to the London Olympics project as a media adviser and strategist.

Mary Curnock Cook, Chief Executive of UCAS, said: 'UCAS Media, the commercial arm of UCAS, is a vital part of our business. UCAS media revenues are invested back into the mainstream UCAS business which is a charity - our aim is to offer more and better services to our member institutions and to applicants. Terry's heavyweight experience will be a huge benefit to the Board.'

Mr Grote said: 'I am delighted to be asked to join the Board of UCAS Media. UCAS Media has a unique data set which is attractive to many different commercial sectors. The unusual challenge here is to utilise these assets at the same time as maximising the benefit to Higher Education as a whole. I look forward to working with the senior team at UCAS in driving this part of the business forward.'
