Salary: £35,600 to £49,000 (dependent on experience)

The Creative Services Department will be key in translating the aspirations of the brand into collateral that creates a compelling call to action for audiences through design, tone of voice and delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Management and mentoring of the 3 staff in the Creative Department (2 designers and 1 copywriter), including appraisal, objective setting and the identification of staff development and training needs.
  • Assigning and managing all creative projects among the team.
  • Lead on development of creative strategies, implementation of creative requirements including copy, layout, illustrations, artwork and photography.
  • Hands on design of concepts, layouts and publication of print and digital artwork formats including digital web app publishing.
  • Approval of all creative work before it is presented outside the Creative Team.
  • Directing the creative aspects of UCAS from concept to completion of every project to schedule and budget.
  • Working closely with Assistant Marketing Director, Marketing Account Managers and the rest of the team to solve marketing problems through smart, well-designed materials that help communicate messages and/or sell products.
  • Present concepts when required to internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee the selection and management of any design or production-related services.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Exceptional creative design abilities, both online and print, coupled with extensive experience of digital marketing, print/graphic design and web/online aesthetics.
  • Experience or knowledge of digital publishing highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop collateral in line with brand guidelines but appropriate to individual audience channels.
  • Ability to conceptualise and direct concepts through to design and execution.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivery of successful campaigns within an agency environment.
  • Strong customer service, self-motivation and time management skills.
  • Effective project management skills, able to lead teams in brainstorming and concept development, a clear communicator and consensus builder.
  • Strong organisational skills, be very detail-oriented and able to coordinate and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong management skills, able to work with a talented staff and motivate them to challenge their own limits and skills.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe CS (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign), and Microsoft office products Word/Excel/Powerpoint. Desirable skills include Wordpress, Prezzi and Pressmart.
  • Ability to direct and multitask effectively under pressure, with tenacity to deliver results to deadlines.
  • Corporate presentation and trade show design experience.
  • Strong presentation and client management skills.
