Salary: Circa £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Overview:

The role holder will manage the supply and allocation of our human resources, amongst a variety of projects and business units. The role holder will maximiSs the utilisation of available personnel resources to achieve business goals; and perform the activities that are necessary in the maintenance of that workforce through identification of staffing requirements.

Role responsibilities:

  • To provide a strategic and operational approach to resource planning and management across UCAS.
  • Compiling resource planning/allocation of all resources to projects and core activities to ensure internal resource utilisation is maximised. This encompasses escalating conflicts and shortfalls in resources and looking at appropriate options for resolution.
  • To manage the end to end process for resource management and allocation.
  • To provide information and insight on workforce supply and demands to inform business decisions.
  • To ensure UCAS has a Total Quality Management (TQM) approach to resource planning and resource management practice and process, with the principles of right first time at the heart of any service delivered.
  • To provide advice, guidance and support to line managers and staff in respect of resource utilisation issues.
  • To work closely with OD colleagues in the development, management and implementation of a programme of improvement & performance initiatives.
  • To work closely with line managers (short-term) and OD change partners (long-term) to develop resource planning strategies which consider staff requirements (FTE and skill set).
  • To report on agreed people metrics (specifically relating to people supply) and ensure that appropriate plans are in place to tackle identified issues, alongside continuous development of the reporting dashboard.
  • To manage and deliver specific people related projects and initiatives, in line with UCAS' approach to programme and project management, which deliver improvement in specific targets or objectives.
  • Monitoring and trend analysis of timesheeting and recording patterns.
  • Extracting information on cost to projects for resource planning and allocation purposes.
  • Creation and management of a skills matrix for project and programmes.
  • Designing virtual teams to work on specific projects and activities.
  • Driving resource utilisation with a focus on business priorities.
