Salary: £24,800 to £31,000 (dependent on experience)

Overview:

UCAS is the organisation at the heart of connecting people to higher education in the UK. It has a unique role and expertise in matching the aspirations of hundreds of thousands of applicants each year to the right courses in higher education institutions.

With primary responsibility for providing shared admissions services for UK higher education institutions, UCAS has recently developed an ambitious five year strategy aimed at streamlining and enhancing its services to the sector at a time of unprecedented change. Employing over 400 staff, UCAS provides a range of services to complement the core admissions role as well as completing research, consultancy and advisory work for applicants, schools, colleges, careers services, professional bodies and employers.

The organisation now has a range of critical initiatives to deliver in order to support the sector through changes in the provision of higher education, the way it is funded and the consequences for admissions processes and applicant information.

Role responsibilities:

  • Generate new business from appointed client categories and allocated agencies through all relevant channels.
  • Grow existing business through skilled negotiation, creative sales proposals and gaining market share from competitors.
  • Manage any incoming business calls individually or via account executives.
  • Account manage all business to ensure the greatest commercial benefit to commercial sales team and UCAS Media.
  • Maintain accurate customer records on an appropriate database.
  • Feedback any relevant market intelligence that could benefit the commercial offering.
  • Manage the customers of other team members when they are unavailable to service their accounts.

Role requirements:

  • Needs to be highly numerate and literate (good grade at GCSE minimum).
  • Solid sales experience with proven success and achievement record.
  • Degree or equivalent desirable but not essential.
  • Highly tenacious.
  • Creative and problem solving mindset.
  • Experience of standard office computer software.
  • Formal sales training, highly desirable but not essential for very experienced sales candidates.
